Echo in the City – Dog Photography in London

Echo’s dad applied to a model call to take part in a dog photography session in London. They had the choice to pick their favourite location in the British capital, and I was so pleased they chose the City of London for their photoshoot!

ABOUT ECHO’S DOG PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

Echo is a gorgeous 4-year-old ex-racing greyhound who was described as a city dog, so the location couldn’t have been more on point. Having a good knowledge of sighthounds, I was initially aware Echos’ could have been scared of loud noises or crowded environments, so we decided to meet in the City early on a Saturday morning when the city is usually pretty quiet.

I was prepared to work with a shy ex-racing greyhound, who could easily be scared by loud noises or crowds, and I couldn’t have been more wrong!

During her photography session in London, Echo proved herself to be very calm, and confident and the bond with her dad, who had only recently adopted her, left me speechless from the very start. We met at St Paul’s Cathedral to take some initial shots before the area started getting busy, and soon found out the Lord Major’s show was happening on that day, which meant the City would have been all but quiet! We managed to take some quick shots at the location before the show started, and Echo was a superstar from the beginning. Here are a few from the start of the session:

We then walked across Millennium to get some photographs of the view of St Paul from the other side of the river, taking a few breaks in between, during which Echo enjoyed her chicken treats. Here is my favourite shot of the view:

After walking back to the north side of the Thames, we started walking around the City without a particular location in mind, trying to avoid the main streets where the parade was taking place, and stopping by any interesting spot we could use for our dog photoshoot. Here are some shots of the spots we found:

We then walked through Leadenhall Market, we ended the dog photography session at the Royal Exchange, where this stunning girl really stood out in front of the neoclassical architecture of the building. Echo was full of treats at that point, so definitely time to take her home!

Echo’s dad loved the images, and subsequently book a second dog photography session for the both of them, read about it here! They finally selected their favourite images to be printed and added to the set from the new session.
