Lola’s dog photography session didn’t quite go as planned, but it was even better!
Lola, a 9-month-old Chihuahua, and Peach, a 3-month-old Toy Poodle, are two lively puppies I had the pleasure to photograph in a cute Mews in Kensington London, just outside their home. Puppy photography can be extremely unpredictable as they have a very low attention span, are easily excitable and are still learning the basic commands. These two pups did amazingly well and we all had so much fun!
About Lola and Peach’s dog photography session
I met Lola, Peach and their parents for their dog photography session in their home in Kensington. As soon as I arrived, Lola welcomed me barking with excitement, while Peach simply started jumping and covering me in kisses from the start.
We stayed in the house for a little while, and while the pups were getting used to my presence, their mum showed me the adorable outfits she had prepared for the day.
We then moved outside in the Mews and started testing Peach and Lola’s training level with some simple commands. Lola, as most puppies, was all over the place, as so many things were going on all at once! Peach was calmer, but every time I was kneeling on the floor, she would run towards me and cover me in kisses – no that I minded, of course!
The area was very safe and they could run off-leash freely while I was just laying still on the floor waiting for them to get used to my presence and calm down a little.
With a lot of time and patience we could start the session and I don’t need to say how cute both of them were! A play between the autumn leaves, a few outfit changes, and loads of running up and down the Mews gave us a lot of variety and tons of fun!
The puppy stage is so short and it’s so important to capture those moments before our furbabies become long-legged adults. We did out best to capture the playful smiles and inquisitive looks typical of this stage, with plenty of head tilts along the way!
